The Social Innovation Academy (SIA) is a national initiative cultivating social purpose organizations in Canada. Led by the UBC Sauder Centre for Social Innovation & Impact Investing, SIA works with social purpose organizations — any organization that advances social or environmental impact — by providing access to talent and knowledge through our Fellowship and Analyst programs.
The Social Innovation Academy provides capacity-building services through connecting student talent to SPOs. Through rigorous training programs, SIA Fellows and Analysts are given the knowledge and skills required to support social purpose organizations. SPOs can submit bite-sized “challenges” – questions relevant the issues SPOs are trying to solve. Over one to two month intensive Challenge sprints, a team of SIA Fellows address these questions and submit a final deliverable of your choosing. During the summer months, we provide full-time analyst support from a nationwide network of students and expert service providers.
